Glo Significantly Reduces Monthly Data Plan (N1000 for 2GB, N2000 for 4.5GB)

By  |

It has officially been confirmed that Glo has massively reduced the worth of its data plans from what it used to be. For sometime now, we have enjoyed Glo’s monumental ascension as the king of data plans in Nigeria. Previously, N1000 should give you 4GB of data, N2000 for 9GB but currently, you get 2GB for N1000 and 4.5 GB for N2000.

I wonder what could have prompted Glo to carry out this, probably recession or whatever. The point is Glo has literally stabbed us in the heart with this step of theirs. As a matter of fact, some of us who have witnessed the irrefutable truth of Glo’s bad network issues in some areas have been managing due to the massive data volume behind it. I wonder what will happen now after the data plans have been reduced.

Below is a screenshot of the updates made to the data volumes allocated to the prices of Glo data plans.

This plans are for new customers and for renewals

  1. N1000 = 2GB 30 days

  2. N2000 = 4.5GB 30 days

  3. N2500 = 7.2GB 30 days

  4. More plans

  5. Special Data Offer

  6. Infos

Glo reduced data plans

However, even though Glo has reduced its data plans, they still remain the best in terms of data plans as their 2GB for N1000 is better than what other Telecom companies in Nigeria offer for the same price such as MTN and Airtel that give 1.5GB for N1000 and 9Mobile that offers just 1GB for N1000. The only disadvantage in Glo is it can be very disappointing in some areas without a strong Glo network.

What do you think about this recent development? Will it negatively affect the customer base of Globacom?
